The Blessing Of The Womb.

Thousands of women have performed a ceremony to become goddesses worldwide. According to reports, 100,000 women from 130 countries attended the Womb Blessing in August 2015.

The Womb Blessing was created by Miranda Gray.

The spirituality and rituals of pregnancy and childbirth, menstruation, and female genitalia are undoubtedly the most influential aspect in this field (referred to as yoni, borrowing the Oriental term from tantra). Let us first examine the author's proposition before delving into its dissemination and influence.

The different cycles of women's life.

Unearthing the taboos and prejudices surrounding female menstruation, which are completely natural and necessary, goes further by proposing a whole system of beliefs and rituals. "The blessing of the womb will help you accept your cyclical nature and connect with each of the powerful energies encompassed in the four phases of your menstrual cycle; to harness these energies and apply them creatively, sexually, and spiritually to your daily life; to awaken cyclical myths and embark on a personal journey; to unearth taboos and live in harmony with the different phases of the 'cycle'."

The menstrual cycle

On a personal level, the different energies that are released throughout the days, until the 28th, with the help of a lunar diagram model (so that each woman knows the characteristics of her own menstrual cycle). Once the woman knows her cycle, "she must start to act with her energies".

Pregnancy

Another ritual is that of motherhood, which occurs when menstruation temporarily stops. The woman "continues to be in the outer phase of the full moon during pregnancy, as she carries within her body a new life that grows like the light of the crescent moon." The ritual is divided into two parts: the symbolic pre-pregnancy ritual and the ritual of returning to the menstrual cycle after childbirth.

Menopause

Menopause should be ritualized as a critical stage in the spiritual development of women. "The post-menopausal woman has the ability to offer her children her own knowledge and experience of the inner world, the divine creative source, and the lineage spiral," explains the author.

What is the uterus blessing?

The Blessing is open to all women, whether they have a uterus or a menstrual cycle. The energy of the Divine Feminine is for all of us. The only prerequisite to receive the Blessing is that young girls have had their first Moon.

The womb blessing is like "an energetic gift that will bring healing to our femininity, our womb and its cycles, our creativity and fertility, our sexuality and spirituality." It is a tradition that "will free us from the past, limiting expectations, guilt, and pain while releasing the deep joy of the soul, the expression of power and beauty of womanhood. In a harsh and masculine world, it is a beautiful blessing and restoration of light for the souls of women."

The purpose of the uterus blessing is to "connect with the Divine Feminine".

Expands and strengthens our connection to the Divine Feminine and our awareness of its presence, helping us bring its energies into the world.
Anchors and roots the presence of the Divine Feminine.
Brings us to wholeness by bringing back the Soul of the Feminine.
Confirms and validates our femininity, the sense of who we truly are and the freedom to be a woman in all its magnificent expressions and archetypes.
Awakens, energizes, and heals the three centers of feminine power.
The Blessing heals the old patterns of our ancestors and those of our past, releasing those souls that still cling to us. The Blessing brings us Power, Love, Beauty, and Grace. (text by Miranda Gray)
